The Wadden isles are among the most beautiful natural areas in the Netherlands. The 20 km long pristine beach and the many bicycle paths through the forest and dunes offer the possibilty to relax and experience nature closeby. This feeling is enhanced by the fact that cars are scarce on the island. They are also not necessary, as the landmarks and places of interest on the island can be easily reached by bike or public transport. The beautiful village of Oost-Vlieland is been completely preserved in the original style. Especially the museums “Tromp’s Huys” and the visitor center “De Noordwester” are worth a visit. The village has a large diversity in restaurants, offering the possibility to sample different styles and dishes. For a nice souvenir of your vacation the many shops of the village offer a wide variety for sale. Highly recommend are the specialty beverages and foods made with Cranberries, for which the island is well known.
